I was never a fan of sunburst finishes, but a couple of early L-series basses converted me. Both of my 'hogs (an '80 L1K and an '81 L2KE) have maple boards. They're great, but I would love to try an ebony board paired with a 'hog body and the early L1K circuit. I did have one very briefly, but it had to go back to the seller due to undisclosed truss rod problems before I could get a real feel for the sound.
