What is this bridge on this F-100 Series ii? Can it be original equipment, or did someone replaced the original with something else?

Hi Kit,

It looks like a Kahler to me and there is an F-100 Series II with Kahler vibrato registered (G008541). It that the guitar in your picture? In addition there is a single F-100E registered with a Kahler vibrato (G016844) but that one does not have a G&L logo on the headstock so it might be an employee guitar. G&L did use Kahler vibratos on other models though.

Kit,
It should be easy to see if the Kahler is original by looking in the routed pocket in the body. Kahler bars were options on many models. If it is original, the routing will have the matching finish in it. If it was done aftermarket you should have clean wood in there although a good tech would have sealed the pocket with at least some clear finish.
