Another ASAT Sparkle - Pickguard Removed.

Post by darwinohm »

I finally got around to removing the black pickguard from the Gold Sparkle. What do you think comparing it to the picture in the avatar. I may order a clear guard. Where can I order one from?-- Darwin

ooohhh....aaahhh ,
....that's nice :)

I would do the clear pickguard ,or go without and add a brass ring for the neck pickup (?) .

It looks like a Maui Sunrise to me ~

I personally don't see the point of a clear pickguard on any guitar. I think it actually takes away from the look.

Great idea, though personally I think chrome would look better

Darwin,

Chandler USA if you want a new pick guard. That is one bright & shiny gee-tar.

Thanks guys. It should be a crime to put pickguards on these things. Louis is right in that you have a hard time seeing the holes unless you look for them. The Sparkle makes them almost invisible.-- Darwin

Hey Darwin,

I can't even see the pick guard holes on mine either, even while i am playing! I would do what Jamie suggested - the chrome ring would look nice  I was really close to ordering a clear guard too, but i have fallen in love with the "naked" look.
Thats 2 metal flake colours for me......4 to go..... I think Gold or silver will definitely need to be next.

For anyone that hasn't see a metal flake in person, man you are missing out! Pictures do not do them justice.

Enjoy the "new" guitar.

Scott, you are correct on the holes being hard to see. The flake colors are so busy that you don't notice the holes. I really like the chrome ring and may have to locate one. I wonder where they are sourced in the US? -- Darwin
