Replacing the bridge on a USA Legacy

Post by asaf-g »

Hi,
I listened to a Callaham bridge on a friend's Strat and it sounds amazing.
I was wondering if I can maybe replace my Legacy's bridge but after emailing them I realized it won't fit.

So my question is - are there any known replacement bridges that I might want to consider on my guitar?
Google didn't help much on this.

Thanks.

yes. the dfs bridge. it has the steel saddles and trem block like the callaham. a major upgrade over the dfv with brass saddles and pot metal trem block.

See G&L will be offering the saddles and block from the DFS ....

Hope this helps.

Just got a call back from the shop.
They contacted G&L. They are not offering an upgrade kit, but you can get the entire bridge for 165$.
Sounds expensive, not sure it's worth it.
I'll have to listen to the difference in a shop or something to get an idea.

BTW if G&L are not offering an upgrade kit, maybe I can just replace the block?
Do you guys know a block that would fit and is made of the same materials as are in the DFS?

Thanks.

I recently contacted Dave McLaren about this and he said:
Hi Craig,

We should have the dfs saddles and block online as a set and perhaps individually. I've copied Steve in case he sees any prob with that.

Thanks!

Dave
So, check the G&L On-Line Store and once they are listed, you will be able to order them.
