hi hey,
i've got an early 90's legacy that has what looks like 3 different tremolo springs,
all a similar size, but looking like each one is made of a different material, there's a shinny metal one, one dull metal, and a weaker copper looking one, and while this may be a bit of charm, i would like to replace them with a new uniform set, at least to hear.
i've looked around, but i haven't been able to find these larger springs G&L uses
does anyone know where i can get replacements for these larger springs, or where G&L get's theirs?
springs for tremolo..?

Hi,
I recently replaced the 2 G&L springs in my '95 S-500 with 3 standard Fender Strat springs from my local music store. They fitted fine and everything stays in tune when I use the whammy. At $6 for 3 springs it's worth a try!
Cheers, Phil.

Many of the Leo-era ( and probably into the early 90's) guitars had two chrome springs and a copper one was used for the center position. I'd keep the copper spring wrapped in bubble wrap in the case since they are G&L-centric and part of George and Leo's design for the instrument.
It might be hard to tell which other spring has been replaced, I'm sure a new set will help with set-up and tremelo action.
...and try the copper one in the middle if you want that old G&L stock look and feel.
Pictures are a big plus,
...and WELCOME to the club!
