Legacy and Andy Timmons pickups
I want to change out factory pickups on my new usa legacy to Andy's pups. Anyone have this combo? I know I will have to order a new pickguard in the hss configuration. IMO they are the glassiest pickups ive heard in the middle and neck positon. The humbucker sounds pretty basic though to me. Good for rock... Maybe I will go with the cruisers in the middle and neck and get a hotter humbucker. Really curious on what they would sound like on the legacy?

Re: Legacy and Andy Timmons pickups
I can't seen any reason why they wouldn't sound good in a Legacy. Andy's signature Ibanez is basically a Strat. Of course, there are differences between his Ibanez and a Legacy. If you are trying to cop his tone, be advised--he uses lots of processing.
Next time I meet up with Andy at one of his Mesa clinics, I'm gonna make him play my one of my Legacy Specials--and I'd bet he'll like it.

andy sounds good not because what he plays, pups, guitars, amps, etc, rather despite of it. he can make anything sound good. don't be surprised if you don't sound like him with his pups.

Re: Legacy and Andy Timmons pickups
I was just wondering if anyone has tried this combo that is all.... I know exactly what equipment he plays and I know tone is in your fingers. I have heard Andy play through a Les Paul through same amp rig he uses with his Ibanez and its 2 totally seperate tones. So, i guess in a way I answered my own question. Thanks Fellows!!!
