Pole pieces on ASAT Commemorative Leo Fender Commemorative

Post by felixq78 »

I was playing last night but later in the session I found that something odd was going on. Turned out one of the adjustable polepieces had unwound itself upwards so that it was touching the string. Easily fixed by just turning it clockwise but how would this occur ? Vibration maybe ? And how do I keep it in place ? Araldite or Locktite are too extreme. Maybe nail polish ?

I had my locking screw for the saddle lock unwind itself once, I screwed'er back in but i figured that it was vibrations.

I reckon that's what you get for having such a resonant piece of kit lol

I'm sure others will have better more technical explanations :)

you can use wax, the same wax as used for potting a pup. i have had some issues with some pole pieces and one one saddle height adjustment screw. they would vibrate loose and i ended up using blue loctite, works really well, no problems since.
