Shopping another G & L

I'm looking at a 2009 Legacy Tribute for $250 supposedly in perfect condition. Is that a good deal or should I wait for a USA model to come along?

that' s a pretty good deal. you are looking at 600 or so for a us one.

BUY IT!! Although there are U.S. models for 700-800.00 avail!

I didn’t go for the “perfect condition” Craig’s List Legacy. When I got to the apartment of the friend of the guy who owned it, I took it out of the gig bag, I’d never seen a pick guard that was warped (humped is more like it) possibly having been exposed to extreme heat or something. Could be they were tinkering with pickups and hadn’t seated everything properly which was reflected by the bulging pick guard. After I couldn’t get the guitar to tune properly, I said I’d seen enough and handed it back to the guy. I felt bad that it looked so roughed up since I take such good care of my BluesBoy. I’ll keep looking.

I once forgot a Strat copy inside my cars trunk and the pick guard was warped too. As long as the pickups aren't damaged, it wouldn't be a big deal to simply replace that warped guard.

But as you didn't feel good at the first moment, it's better to look elsewhere. With a little bit of luck and patience you might go for an US Legacy for maybe just twice the money. I'd prefer one with a 3 bolted neck, as they are underrated because of that, although it has never been an issue for a G&L. In conjunction with that tilt screw, it's in my opinion simply the best solution ever for a bolt on neck guitar.
