Hey guys, this is my first post here. I'm planning on getting an Invader made for me by the custom shop and I was wondering if anyone here knows if they would be open to making a 24 fret version as a custom option(with an upcharge of course haha). I'm not a fan of the FIorano so I'm not really open to going that route. Anyways all feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

First welcome to the forum. As far as your question goes I think it will be close to impossible but you should talk with your dealer. My reasons for giving you that answer are these: although G&L has a Custom Creations Department, most of the instruments are not 'Custom Shop' creations in the Fender sense. A G&L customer is just given the opportunity to choose from different finishes, body, and neck options but changing the standard 22 frets to 24 is not one of them. On top of that, the 24 fret on the Tribute Fiorano is a set neck. To built you a 24 fret neck on the Invader, while maintaining the same scale length, the neck would need a longer lip on the body side whereas the neck pickup needs to be placed a little more towards the bridge to make room for the extra 2 frets, necessitating reprogramming the CNC machines. From what I know while participating in the design of the GbL LE II that is not very likely. But again, talk with your dealer because it never hurts to ask.
Hope this helps,

as guthrie govan says, 22 frets is a grown ups guitar. i used think i needed 24, but i'd rather have the neck pup in a location where it sounds better.

Guthrie said that tongue in cheek. He played PRS Custom 24s for years before switching to Suhr and as soon as Suhr made a 24-fretter he switched back. His signature models are 24 frets, and they are amazing.

i know, he said that when he was playing the 22 fret suhr model. it did not seem to limit him one bit though. with humbuckers i don't mind the neck pup placement moved over a bit as much, with single coils it makes a bigger difference to me.

I had a Tribute Invader for awhile. I loved that guitar. I traded it because I'm
planning on getting a USA Invader at some point soon.
