Yes, according to the 2012 US Dealer Price List, the Will Ray Signature models comes with
Choice of Standard or Premier Finishes included.

Hope this helps.

I erred when I said Yes to your question.

The Metal Flake Finishes are listed separately from the Premier Finishes with a
MSRP higher than the Premier Finishes' MSRP in this Price List.

Hope this helps.

Craig, I just checked the guitar builder and all the finishes are the same price using it for the WR. Is there a problem with the builder?-- Darwin

I have sent email to Dave to get clarification on this, since the 2012 Price List does not
match the G&L Website specs.

Stay tuned.

I have heard back from Dave and the current 2012 US Dealer's Price List is correct, as I have stated.
So, the Metal Flake Finishes are now an extra charge on all models, including the Will Ray Signature models.

Dave has also updated the WR Signature Spec page on the main G&L website to reflect this.

Hope this clarifies this change.

And, yes Darwin, American Guitar And Band's G&L Guitar Builder will need to be changed.
Can you let them know?

Thanks.

This really chaps my hide. For YEARS now the G&L website has stated, under standard model description, that the Wil Ray chose Green, Turquiose, and Orange Metal Flake Finished for his signature guitars, adding that Clear Orange was also available for more subdued tastes.

The American Guitar and Band configurator also included metal flake finishes in the base price of the guitar.

I finally order a USA to replace my Tribute and I am told that Metal Flake is an ADD-ON to the base price when clearly it is an integral element to the "signature" of this artists model. I was already told of the price list change before posting this, but AFTER I had placed my order. I wanted to confirm it here.

You'd think since it was advertised as coming standard with Metal Flake, they would include it and THEN make the correction to company website- well no. I am being charged for the upgrade by the factory. Dissapointed. :problem:

If you were quoted a price and ordered what you were quoted, then whomever made the mistake - dealer or manufacturer - should consider eating the difference as a matter of ethical customer service. If the dealer didn't catch the change on the new price list, he should at least give you the metal flake option at his cost. If G&L didn't change marketing materials to reflect the change by the time you placed your order, you should be grandfathered in at the previous price. Certainly manufacturers are allowed to change prices and specs, but you should be told at the time of ordering or before, not after. Increasing the price AFTER the order is placed is unethical and can reasonbaly be viewed as a classic bait and switch.

Guys,

The website was behind the price list and I'm really sorry about the confusion. If you've got one on order with the MF finish let me know and we'll have the charge taken off the order and let the dealer know not to charge you for the finish.

Thanks for your understanding.
