Replace ASAT Classic Neck pup with G&L ASAT Special pickup
Is it possible to replace the neck pickup on a G&L ASAT Classic with a G&L MFD pickup for an ASAT Special?

Not as a direct drop in, it would require a bigger pickup rout.user1983 wrote:Is it possible to replace the neck pickup on a G&L ASAT Classic with a G&L MFD pickup for an ASAT Special?
The ASAT Classic Custom is the standard model equivalent.
Hope this helps.

no. you just have to route the guitar and get a new pg. a non reversible mod, definitely lowers the guitar's value.user1983 wrote:So you have to buy a whole new guitar?

I'm just trying to get a different sound and try something different. I love my G&L but I'm kind of a tone seeker (i'm an addict and it's a terribly expensive habit) and I wanted to try replacing the pickup without having to break the bank and buy a new guitar.louis cyfer wrote:no. you just have to route the guitar and get a new pg. a non reversible mod, definitely lowers the guitar's value.user1983 wrote:So you have to buy a whole new guitar?

The ASAT Classic S would be good model to get for that.user1983 wrote:I'm just trying to get a different sound and try something different. Here's what it looks like under the pickguard (Semi-Hollow version):
Hope this helps.
