1996 Legacy tuners?

Hey all!!
Looking at a 1996 Legacy but has sperzel locking tuners!? was this stock for this gtr. in 1996?

They came stock with non-locking tuners. See the Gallery for the 1996-97 G&L Catalog, page 3.
