The place to discuss, post photos, video, and audio of the G&L products (US instruments, stomp boxes, etc.) produced after 1991, including the amps & gear we use with them.
Hey All!
I have read on other sites that the resale value of G&Ls are very low, as I have bought 2 used G&Ls I find this comment to be a little off. How do you guys feel about the resale values of G&L gtrs? Mine are a 1999/2001 U.S.A. and the combined price for a Legacy Special and a 1999 Comanche was 1475.00 in total
I found this to be a great deal!!?? Any thoughts on this?

This is what I would call very low. If there would be 7ender on the head stock, the Comanche would cost that alone an another 1000 for the Legacy, in very Condition of course. That would at least be fair prices for these guitars, regarding the amount of money one had to pay for them new.
Seems to me after playing both and owning both that it should be the other way around?!!
The G&Ls play better and are built better IMO> than the fenders.

+1 Comes back to the good ol' adage: "What's in a name?" But then again, those in the know can be happy about it
This is why I, for one, will always buy a G&L used. I have bought and sold a number of them and they have to be one of the best deals on the used market today. But you are guaranteed a big loss if you buy new and then try to sell. I can remember back in the 90's - a store which sold G&L discontinued them. They were selling them at ridiculously low prices and still the locals preferred to buy the MIM Fenders. I think that things are a little better now than then - but the stigma still remains it seems.
