do you find the pickups switch comfort on ASAT Classic ?

Hi,
I've recently bought G&L Asat Classic Bluesboy Semi-Hollow, which I really love.
After playing well for about 4 years on Les Paul guitars(schecter and epiphone), I've noticed that on the asat, sometimes I'm hitting the pickup switch when I'm strumming.
Does it happened to you ? What can I do to fix it ? (try to strum different, change the knob for something smaller and so..)

hitting the switch on an asat classic is some pretty wild strumming. i would say some adjustment to your strumming is warranted. i turn the control plate around because i want better access to the volume knob, but that would put the switch farther away.

Are the wires long enough so I can reverse the control plate without the need of re-soldering? (not that it's hard..)

problem is happening because I've started with an acoustic guitar, where strumming is pretty wild...
and when I've started play an electric guitar, the LP body allowed me to still strum the same way.. and now the asat doesn't.

you might want to examine your strumming. it may mean that you strum from your arm and not from the wrist, that usually denotes some tension in the arm. also strumming that far just means wasted movement and less accuracy. you never want to move farther than necessary, the longer a movement the less accurate. it's called economy of movement. unfortunately most players i come across who did not have rally good instruction usually demonstrate real lack of development in this aspect. it also applies to the left hand. you only want to push the fingers down to the frets, never lift them up, just relax them, that lifts it up with no effort, and only far enough to clear the string. same thing with pressure. you only want to push hard enough to fret the string, no more. most players push way too hard. holding the pick is also the same. just enough so it doesn't fall from the fingers.

actually, that's what my teacher taught me. when strumming, I should move the whole arm and do not strum from the wrist...
maybe I should go to an electric guitar teacher, that will check my techniques and try to develop them.

left hand is fine I think.

that's curious, that not a good thing, even for acoustic.

they should be. they were on mine. bluesboy as well. have to swap the volume and tone pots if you still want the volume be the first one. i resoldered the pots because i put in a 4 way switch and the tone is only on the bridge pup, but it may not be necessary, could very well reach that too.
