Can you take the covers of the Ascari humbuckers easily?

Dumb question perhaps - but I've never been a guitar techie type.

I think your question is about removing the covers off, right? ;)

Yes, they are removable. If they do not lift right off, you can use a low heat setting on a hair
dryer to heat the top of the cover and soften the wax potting of the pickup which might have stuck
to the cover.

Hope this helps.

Really? The aren't soldered to something?
That means they are there for optical reasons only, as the will not shield against anything that way.

Oops, I guess I was thinking about the plastic covers.

I checked with Paul and here is what he says:
Yep. You would need to be careful so as to not ruin the pickup but it's held in place with two solder connections
on the bottom plate. The pickup is wax potted with the cover on so you should heat up the pickup a bit to help
the wax let go.

This will void the warranty on the pickup but technically it can be done.

Thanks,
Paul
Hope this helps.

I'm still waiting for U.S. versions but I like Paul Gagon's pickups better than Seymour Duncan.

Me, too. I have an ASAT Deluxe SH and got some of Paul's HBs and had them installed in place of the SD HBs several
years ago.

Paul Gagon's uncovered pickups sound stellar in the Foriano!
They are the same pickups with covers in the Ascari I believe -
still nice but the uncovered are heavenly - oozing with character.
I used to think the ASAT deluxe tribute pu's were good but these
new pickups are a cut above still.
