I have a new USA legacy, I've got the action set according to the pdf manual on line, but I would like to get better than that, I play rather lightly but if I drop the action, I get terrible string buzz, can anyone help me out.

If it was built in 2009 or later, then use this for the setup: Current Factory setups for DF vibrato G&L guitars.dodgerfly wrote:I have a new USA legacy, I've got the action set according to the pdf manual on line, but I would like to get better than that, I play rather lightly but if I drop the action, I get terrible string buzz, can anyone help me out.

Hope this helps.

Re: action on a new G&L legacy
Thank you so much for the info on the current site, for the new models, I did as follows setting the bridge at 1/8 in clearance from the bottom of the bridge to the body, as it had been almost touching the body.
The current site didn't say anything about the curvature of the neck though. The old manual on line said when pressing the string down on the 1st and 22nd fret the clearance at the 8th fret on string #6 should be between .010 and .012, I'm wondering if that is the same for the new USA Legacy. That is where I have it set now. The action isn't too bad though there is slight string buzz. The action's not where I'd like it to be, but don't know what else I can do.
I also screwed in the bridge a little deeper which enabled me raise the bridges on E 1st and E 6th, as they were both bottomed out.
Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks again.
