How to return a defective guitar

I can't believe it. That Bluesboy SH Double-bound is defective! Bad neck and misaligned bridge!!! I'm about to pick it up from American Guitar & Band (G&L dealer). I am beside myself. Literally.

I got it through Southpaw Guitars. Does he take it back and refund me or do I go through this whole replacement business? Wow...

I bought it from Southpaw's inventory(no special order), then took it to AG&B for a full set-up. I did see the neck alignment issue right away, but thought it was due to shipping...

thats horrible. My asat special had issues, including needing the body rerouted for the neck, but it was fixable.

A bad neck, I would take it back to Southpaw for a refund.

did you buy it as new from dealer? meaning are you the first owner? what is wrong with the neck? the body i got needed some tlc to get it to work, but it is perfect now. if you got a killer deal, i would go the warranty route, if you got it for a normal price, return it and find another one.

I looked at the photos you posted of it when you got it and I don't see
anything obvious with either the neck or bridge. Can you elaborate what
the tech at AG&B found? Does he think it is repairable?

If you decided to go the warranty route, you will need to contact the Southpaw Guitars
since they are the selling dealer.

I am quite sure that G&L will take care of this, should you decide to have it handled by warranty repair.

I too really feel for you.... it is so unfortunate that something like that had to happen to you and your new guitar. I am sure that it will be taken care of promptly by all parties involved ..Hang in there, that is one heck of a cool looking guitar.

Well, I just returned it. Bummed. What a cool guitar; would be nice w/ Fullerton Red & Himalayan Blue too... I'll keep searching, but opted for an Anderson "Nashville" Hollow T-type instead.

Awesome guitar Will. The three pickup T Types are as good as it gets. I would not be afraid to have the Bluesboy repaired by the factory.-- Darwin

A very tight neck pocket, but with the neck going in at an angle. He also noticed that the bridge was slightly tilted counter-clockwise (used a straight edge). I posted the only pictures. You can only see that the low E side had more space. It's back at the store and will speak with him this week. If it goes back I'd want to make it quatersawn this time. Otherwise, I'll probably order a new one with these specs and either a Fullerton or Himalayan body this time...
