Jeff Golub

Post by suave eddie »

I don't know how many of you are familiar with a guitarist named Jeff Golub.
He is in his mid 50s and just lost his sight. First one eye, and shortly after the second one--freak condition with no apparant cause--collapsed optic nerve.

His previous releases are catagorized in the "smooth jazz" genre. His new release is called "The Three Kings", a tribute to B.B, Albert, and Freddie King, and is straight ahead blues.

Here is a tasty sample from the new CD.

Didn't he used to play with Billy Squire in the early '80s?

You are correct--I didn't realize that until I just looked it up. It was his first major gig in 1980, appearing on 7 albums and 3 world tours with Billy.

I met him and Bobby (Squire's drummer) on the Emotions In Motion tour back in '83. Very nice guy.
