I am writing this on my iPhone as I travel to Cleveland for the rock and roll hall of fam induction event tomorrow.
I have recently embraced my second amendment rights by purchasing two firearms. My first purchase was a Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22. It is an AR style rifle chambered for .22 long rifle rounds, it is a lot of fun to shoot and, because it's a small caliber, it can be fired at the local indoor pistol range. My most recent acquisition is a lever action Winchester 1892 Trapper chambered in .45 long colt. Since this is a pistol round I can shoot it at the indoor pistol range.
Anyone out there shoot?
On the topic of G&L, I owned as many as 7 of them at one point in time. I am now down to two -- an ASAT Classic and a Legacy HB.

Love the Winchester. In .45 Long Colt, that should have plenty of stopping power. You just need a nice SAA to go with it, and some fancy leather. With conches! Bad ass!
I was thinking about getting one of those S&W .22s. How does it shoot? Is it accurate?
I like the Legacy HB, too. Is that one of the mahogany ones?
My favorite handgun to shoot is a GOOD Model 1911 .45 ACP, like the Kimber SIS, Wilson Combat, Nighthawk or one of Ed Brown's creations. My favorite handgun to CARRY though, is a Glock. For a quarter of the cost of a tricked out 1911, the Glock gets it done. They are amazing pistols. I prefer the Model 22 in .40 S&W, but my 19 in 9mm is easier to carry. All of my Glocks are very accurate. Been thinking I should add a 30SF to my collection, but...it's more fun buying guitars!
And I don't follow kids in hoodies walking around my neighborhood. What a tragedy.
I used to go shooting with my older brothers when I was young. I don't do it now because I don't own any firearms.
I like buying basses and guitars and I can't afford another hobby right now, but Good luck with that Winchester. That is a beautiful stock. Is it walnut?

i actually frequent gunstores often, but i mostly go to buy the finishing products. i love guitars and necks finished in gunstock oil finish, like the birchwood casey tru oil. i would love a winchester like that. it is a very cool gun.
Nice guns: rifles and the six strings. I don't really shoot, but have a collection of pre-assault-weapons-ban items(all have papers!). Actually, now that I have them I wish I didn't. Don't really know what I was thinking...
I'm not interested in owning firearms at this point, especially with children in the house. I used to shoot shotguns as a teenager (turkey shoot fundraisers were big where I grew up - and Louis, we didn't actually shoot turkeys, the best shot won a frozen turkey as a prize). I sometimes had to carry a government issue 1911 in the Navy and absolutely hated it. The things were just too prone to jamming. I preferred carrying a riot shotgun (we had some nice ones), but caught a lot of grief for it not being an "officer's weapon". When my son is a bit older I plan to take him to a firing range to learn to handle and respect firearms, but that's as close as I plan to get to having a weapon around my family.
My G&L count is up to 15. One I ordered several weeks ago just arrived. NGD report to follow.

I've wanted a lever action rifle sine I waqs a kid watching the rifleman on tv, that Wincester is a beauty! My guns are like my G&Ls, used to have a lot now down to a few and they are all more then 20 years old.

those are great guitars. i knew i have played that shape, but couldn't put my finger on it. i really like the streamlined strat shape. so you understand why i love my fralins.
at pasadena guitars they have dozens of custom shop strats, they had one of these grosh, and a warmoth neck and body put together and finished by a local builder. those 2 were neck and shoulder above all the custom shop strats.
I do not own any guns and have been told by those in the know that I would make a terrible collector. I would give them all cool paint jobs and apparently gun owners don't do that. I think that a Transparent Blue gun stock would be awesome or one in transparent Mint Green gun.
The Don Grosh is awesome. I was looking at a Grosh Tele type but it had the fat neck. It was a medium Metallic Blue and is still for sale. They are quality from the git go.
Hope that you had a blast at the RR induction. You didn't happen to run into Axl? Lots of fun this week Rick and I didn't see a report on your new Mesa. The wood cabinet is awesome. SNL just went on. I think the guitarist in the show's band usually sports a Don Grosh Electrajet P-90. Don makes some fantastic instruments. I've owned a couple but I've never felt worthy enough to keep them. Miss them plenty, though... - ed
