Lunch today sonsists of a hamburger
made by me.. mix in a little ranch dressing
some salt and pepper, a little cheddar, make up the
patties and hit the BBQ.. a slice of cheese on
top after and BAM... a fantastic cheesey Ranch
burger..
This week went fast... I have not even had a chance
to find my replacement. if I get a colunteer today I'll
post it.. if not I'll find a nominee tomorrow..
Topic of the day.. BBE and G&L pedals
1 Which ones do you have
2 Which ones have you tried
3 Which ones are your favorites
Off the top of my head (I've loaned a frew to Doug Doppler for his Get Killer Tone Vid)
I've got :
Acoustamax
Boosta Grande (x2 one Doug has)
Bench Press
Freq Boost
Orange Squash
Crusher
Tried, want, and don't have Yet.
Sonic stomp
Want to try
Tremor
Green screamer
Opto Stomp
Soul Vibe
Two TImer
Free Fuzz
Mind Bender
and the Wah..
ok so pretty much everything I haven't
tried yet..
The Orange Squash and Boosta Grande
are my favorites so far..
Both because they do exactly what
I want them to and are non invasive, I know
everyone likes to say transparent but it needs
to do something, transparent makes it sound like
it does nothing non invasive to my tone makes me
think, makes a difference but the sound of my gutiar
still comes through..
Other pedals I use are T-Rex but the bang for the
buck definately goes to BBE and while there are a
couple T-Rex pedals I use, it's because friends had
them and I got to try them and found them to have
great tone and easy to dial in which are my two
requirements for a pedal that I gig with. The BBE
pedals meet those as well of course.. I'd like to get
a pedal board set up with just new model BBE pedals.

Re: Freakin Friday already
Cris, If you play on other peoples amps at jams or something the Sonic Stomp is expecially cool. I sometimes play through a cheaper pignose tube amp, and the sonic stomp makes a ton of difference to the musicality and crispness of notes.
On my silverface fenders I can make some very minor changes to the sound by turning knobs, but it really doesn't make nearly as much difference.
Good luck finding a replacement, I hope you do better than I did! jeremy

Re: Freakin Friday already
my only issue is the size with bbe pedals. i have the sonic stomp and the soulvibe, and the soulvibe will probably be replaced with a smaller vibe. the sonic stomp is essential.
transparent to me means that the pedal does what it is supposed to, but does not color guitar's tone. like a transparent compressor compresses the signal, but does not color it. color can be good though. i have my ep boost on, at the minimum boost setting, at all times because the way it effects the tone. definitely not transparent. my timmy pedal is very transparent, only adds some dirt, but the tone remains unchanged. my jetter pedals are far from transparent, but color the guitar's sound in a very desirable way. i like delays, compressors, tremolos, reverbs to be transparent. a vibe pedal, or flanger, chorus, phaser can not be transparent imnsho.

Re: Freakin Friday already
I understand the Transparent verbage, but I think it's used way to often and agree OD boosts and such can be transparent while flangers phasers wahs etc cannot they can only be more or less invasive than the norm..
I also have the Timmy, as well as a love pedal eternity boost that I love and a Zvex Fuzz Factory.. I don't have the Ep boost but I do have an EP 3 if that counts..
I think we need to have a West Coast G&L JAM...

i have the lovepedal eternity fuse. don't use it anymore. couldn't get friendly with the fuzz factory. the ep3 counts for sure.ChrisPcritter wrote:I understand the Transparent verbage, but I think it's used way to often and agree OD boosts and such can be transparent while flangers phasers wahs etc cannot they can only be more or less invasive than the norm..
