G&L does tops right
If this were Fender it would be a Custom Shop guitar for double the price. This popped up on the Bay but had to post it since it's one hell of a beautiful, book matched top. And this from a guy who doesn't care for flames or quilt. nice rosewood board too. on a somewhat related note Gibson is pushing "baked maple," "obeche," and something called "Richlite" on their under 2k LP, SG's, and others. nice to know G&L is staying with quality components and woods.

I saw that and if she had a maple fretboard I'd be very tempted,

Yowza! I'm usually not much for flamed or quilted tops either but is one fine looking guitar. Looks so 3-D deep you could practically dive into it.

Cap is over the top only in the literal sense. That is gorgeous. It is very contained for a potentially nuclear flashy finish.SouthpawGuy wrote:My own lefty S500 Deluxe in cherry burst.
Over the top ?
You bet !
And as a lefty I'm very glad that G&L make all the finishes available to lefty players.

A beauty as well.darwinohm wrote:Okay, I have to show one for the Lowenders. It is not a lefty!-- Darwin
Is that Cherryburst also?
I wonder what one of those pups would sound like on a high-ender if the pole number and locations were not an issue..

hahaha Obeche, what will they think of next?
Gimme rosewood or maple anyday.
Not one for flaming tops but those are some majorly fantastic examples.

i like the baked maple that suhr and anderson uses on necks. i also like the improved neck joint. i really hope g&l will make an improved neck joint an option, to make upper fret access easier, it should not be difficult to do with the cnc.
