i am wondering when bbe is gonna catch up with the rest of the manufacturers in realizing that pedal board real estate is important and large footprint pedals hold sales back. i am sure all of the current pedals could be put into the single space mxr style enclosures. some companies are going even smaller, like this one

i have the compressor, sounds great and it is small. i would like to get more g&l/bbe pedals, but the size is really an issue, and i know a lot of guys that are limited by the same concern.
tc electronic did that with their new line, actually smaller than the single space mxr. i would really like to see bbe make that next leap, either by making a new compact line, or actually re-releasing the current line in a smaller package. simple features like having the jacks on the upper side instead on the side, or if on the side, making them staggered so the pedals can get closer together. any opinions?

Re: g&l and bbe pedals
Great point. I don't have a BBE pedal on my board, primarily due to the size. I've got 5 pedals on a Pedaltrain Mini, but could probably only fit 3 BBE pedals on the same board.
The Red Witch pedals are super compact, but I'm not sure I'd want to give up tone controls.

Too bad they don't mention the internal controls on their website. They might not want to though, since internal tone controls are impractical at best.

since size is the issue, the choices were limited i am sure. i have no interest in their drive pedals, but the comp, tremolo and boost work with 2 knobs very well, and the comp has the compression ratio on an internal trimpot. you could fit 3 of these in place of one bbe sized pedal. i am not saying that bbe should go this small, but just tc, or mxr size.Ches wrote:Too bad they don't mention the internal controls on their website. Re: g&l and bbe pedals
I see where you are coming from, but w/out a board, some of those small real estate pedals are hard to step on... I don't use a pedal board often and when I do, I like a bit of space between them; not so tightly packed together. I don't think it's possible to make everyone happy(and not going to debate majorities, etc.).

Re: g&l and bbe pedals
you can always put the smaller pedals farther away, the size of the switch is exactly the same. but my point is, people with pedal boards buy more pedals. i have not seen people without a board do more than 3. certainly not the 8,10, 12 or more that a lot of pedal board users have. most other companies have introduced a small footprint line, even the small companies, like redwitch. they still have their big pedals. i just think bbe is limiting their market because of the lack of smaller size availability.

I'm in, but only if they are in pearl or tort boxes.louis cyfer wrote:...i have not seen people without a board do more than 3. certainly not the 8,10, 12 or more that a lot of pedal board users have...i just think bbe is limiting their market because of the lack of smaller size availability.
