Spot - back from the dead

Post by Spot »

Hello, my name is Spot. I live in Seattle. I enjoy dogs, 4xFords, long walks on the beach, old junkie American made guitars and fish & chips. My favorite color is sherbet orange and if reincarnation is true I hope to come back as an octopus or maybe an armadillo. Not a flying squirrel or a flying fish though, something about flying squirrels and flying fishes bothers me. Squirrels aren’t suppose to fly, that’s what they made bats for and fish – fish aren’t suppose to even be out of the water let alone flying around so they are definitely in that “what was the point of creating them” category. Sorry, but I have a strong sense of what’s right and wrong I just don’t dig on the idea of squirrels and fish flying around. And then there’s all these people trying to make regular non-flying animals do all kinds of unnatural things like bears riding bicycles, monkeys who pilot spaceships, small lap dogs who wear sweaters or Halloween costumes, parrots who are taught cuss words, squirrels that water ski – squirrels aren’t suppose to fly and they sure as hell shouldn’t be water skiing. I also have an intense phobia of mannequins, clowns, mimes, dolls, ventriloquist dolls, puppets, marionettes, Muppets, sock puppets and those little foam Jack In The Box heads people put on their car antennas. Other than that I’m relatively normal.

Cool because I really do want to fit in. The doctor at the nervous hospital told me to get a hobby. He said it would be healthy to learn to play an instrument and start interacting with people. At first they want me to do it virtually until they feel I’m ready to interact face-to-face with real people.

Play guitar, I represent G&L’s minority demographic of rockers. I have a handful of mid ‘80’s G&L superstrats.

Hey Spot, what's shakin'? It's been a while since you posted. You gigging this weekend or next? My band has a whirlwind of a gig schedule for the St Paddy's Day week--it's starting to feel like a second job. :-)

Hey GW, yep, been a while. No shows this month at all. In the studio with one band and the Cooper project is taking the month off to break in 2 new nurses and learn a few older obscure tunes - sick of playing the same set for the past 4 years. Rolling out the new show with a Portland road trip early next month.

Mommy, Where's Daddy? he's been gone for so long!
OK Spot, her's a set list for you.
#1 Open with something hot and heavy like Under my Wheels, hey, everybody likes car songs.
#2 Keep it going strong with another notch in your gun, Desperado
#3 Before they figure out how insane you really are do one for the ladies, Is it my Body, Love that strong bass line!
#4 Now you can show your true self with Dead Babies
#5 Mellow it out with ballad of Dwight Fry
#6 Close the set with some hot double guitar work with Halo of flies, if you can handle that one :))

Yep, that was me. That was actually Yellow Dog my first Superhawk with the Alice eyes. The eyes are gone but I still use the guitar.

Not much for the Cooper tribute, this snippet was posted from a friend but that's about all I've ever found.

Yeah, I think you'll fit right in, Spot. lol!!!
Hey, is it you who doesn't like mayonnaise, or am I confusing you with somebody else? I ask mostly because it's not bad on a flying squirrel sandwich! - ed

btw, looks like the new format stole a bit of your "It's Friday. Who's gigging?" thunder. I think you need to do something about that. It just rubs me the wrong way......

It is very encouraging that Spot has confronted his demons to the point of actually becoming one of them. Maybe there's hope for me after all?

Nice makeup job Mr. Spot. :evilgrin3:

LOL. Yes, I do remember going off on a rant about hating condiments and particularly mayonnaise during a lunch report a while back.

I noticed the gigging thing, glad they added it :)

Yep, although I do fear clowns and mannequins I also find them perversely alluring and tend to always work them into our shows. The band thinks I’m crazy and my wife doesn’t know what to think
