need model help

Post by lshines »

Y'all please help me decide on ONE model of ASAT: (Korina) Junior, or Deluxe?

I have a Classic, but seem to need a P90 or a humbucker in the mix. I'd kinda like one classic single coil and one of the other...

Suggestions please!

get the junior. the p90's are wicked good pups. although the asat special pups are incredible as well. the only humbuckers i have liked so far are the mfd f100 return edition.

Thanks, Louis!

Your discussion w/ NH has me wondering about HB's tho'
but my original idea was P90's. Maybe a P90 and a hb! I've a bluesboy of sorts coming (a Ron Kirn (sorry guys), ordered before I discovered G&L). Thi ng is I do want a little of the tele/ASAT twangy sound....do you think the Jr. would do that? I hate not being able to play 'em first.....
....I wish the Jr. were available in swamp ash. Tho' I like the korina, since this will probably be my last, I would like it in a classy color/ finish....(BUT color don't make it play well, do it?)
NO, I can't get away with getting TWO....

you know how close i am to ordering a kirn? i have the cashier's check made out in his name, just haven't sent it off yet. would be an s style, and i am looking for a g&l s style instead now. we'll see.

that discussion was about taking the hb out of the guitar. replacing it with a p90. i really don't like hb's much anymore. the d allen alleycats i have in the paul are very good, but don't like any others currently, and i have a lot of them. actually the anderson h3 is pretty nice, i have a mahogany strat with andersons with an h3 in the bridge and it sings pretty nice. the mfd humbuckers in the f100 is also good. most are too dull, dark and lifeless for my taste. tell ron to change out the neck pup on your guitar for a bkp missisippi queen, you'll be very happy, although a sd p-rail would be a great option, have best of all worlds. i would have done that if they came in chrome covers.

Oh, yea, Louis I understand...the P90 is what I was interested in - you know, thinking about 2 OF THEM in an ASAT (the Special model), but, you know, maybe ONE with a sc in the bridge - heck, maybe I should look to a Bluesboy to put one in.

My Kirn (a "Micawber" type tele) will have, like the Bluesboy, a hb in the neck position, and sc in the bridge. I'm stoked about it!

I still have that yearning for the P90 sound, tho', so that's why I kinda started this question. As I said before re the Jr, I kinda would like a nice color/finish - the Korina is neat (and will certainly be a collectable), but......maybe a Special Deluxe, smokey honey burst kind of finish, matching headstock, still like rosewood fb....
Your ideas will be appreciated! thanks for all the info!
