Replacement certificate for USA made guitar?

I am purchasing a USA made guitar that no longer has its original certificate. It is in the registry- will G&L issue a replacement certificate?

I am looking at it the same way as I would a buildsheet to a car. The factory confirming that it was built and equipped as it appears today. Goes to collectibility.

Here the Lost my certificate!! post in the Knowledgebase. Be aware that for pre-February 2011 guitars this would only entail the Phyllis Fender signed cert since no spec sheet data is available for these instruments. I don't know whether you can get replacement spec sheets for later guitars, but I assume so since likely G&L has a DB with these things (see Darth Invaders response in the 'New Serial Number Plates' thread). And although I know you can get a replacement for the Silver COA's provided with early production Korina Collection instruments, which mentioned the instrument to be a Special Build instead of Limited Edition, I do not know you can get a replacement for those if applicable. Of course it never hurts to ask.

Yes. I've asked Dave about getting access to this data but so far it has not been made available to me.

Not sure if relates, but when I bought my ASAT before Christmas, the store couldn't find the certificate to match my serial. They went back to G&L to have it reprinted.

Would this apply to instruments built in 1998? I bought my first Legacy used from Music Go Round and there was no COA with it...didn't know at the time that it should have come with one, but I'd love to get one?

Curious, though, Craig...the G&L Support page does not directly reference this...would I call the same person I would call to arrange repair?

Yes, you would contact the person listed on the G&L Support page.
My suggestion would be to email Chris and let him know what you need
and that it was lost or not included by a previous owner, the serial number
and model name. Include your mailing address and he will take care of getting
a replacement COA sent to you.
