asat and f100
i played them at gc. the asat classic was red, with ebony board. very nice, incredible sound. they want 899. i don't like the red color though. the f100 is really nice. they want 1399 though, without the case or the bar or anything else. too much in my opinion. it has been there for at least a year.

You cannot make any offers anymore? I know you recently described the Mitt Romney GC but does this mean those prices are cast in stone?louis cyfer wrote:i played them at gc. the asat classic was red, with ebony board. very nice, incredible sound. they want 899. i don't like the red color though. the f100 is really nice. they want 1399 though, without the case or the bar or anything else. too much in my opinion. it has been there for at least a year.
What is "the bar" BTW? Whammy bar?

yes, whammy bar. they will not go lower on the f100. they lowered the price from 1600, and that is it. after over a year it is still sitting there. the asat is nice, but not my color.
the gc sales dude says to me, "this is a custom g&l". -i know, they all are.- "this one is ebony board". -yes, that is one of the options.- "but this one was a custom order". - i see, you mean like other g&l guitars?- it kept going like that. i did point out the custom creations sticker on the f100 to try to explain the difference, but who are we kidding.

I am happy that you did not like either all that much under those circumstances. I would not buy a guitar from GC. I know I am basing my feelings on outdated experience but I have read information that leads me to believe they are not typically capable of offering a good deal because they do not have the knowledge to know one. I am speaking generally as there are usually exceptions to most things. I just wanted to get more of an idea of your interaction with them.louis cyfer wrote:yes, whammy bar. they will not go lower on the f100. they lowered the price from 1600, and that is it. after over a year it is still sitting there. the asat is nice, but not my color.

i was actually there to help a student pick out his first guitar. i really tried to get him to take the asat. there was a tribute bluesboy as well, but he ended up with a 50's tribute les paul.

Louis, if the F-100 has a Custom Creations with a series number on the back and if it is Port Wine color with a maple cap, it is one of the F-100 Return editions from 2007. They are pricey and also I believe have a build of 100. Just curious.-- Darwin

yes, forgot to mention return edition. number 44. very nice guitar, i would have bought it if they bargained it down to about 1000.darwinohm wrote:Louis, if the F-100 has a Custom Creations with a series number on the back and if it is Port Wine color with a maple cap, it is one of the F-100 Return editions from 2007.
