Jus Behind, played with ASAT (not S-3)

Post by Miles Smiles »

Made a new video using my ASAT:

For better sound, use that url below, or switch to "720p HD" in the embedded player!

It's no real ASAT S-3. The middle pickup has been added by the previous owner and it's used in the middle part together with the bridge PU. The final part is done with the bridge PU and an additional tube screamer emulation.

very nice. i have been downloading a lot of backers from aussenjam lately. some really good ones. some really cheezy ones as well. of course i can't understand most of what they are saying about them, but oh well. is the whole solo written, or did you improvise around a loose framework? i have a few suggestions. i'd vary the dynamics a lot more, a lot of room for that. also the rhythm i would break up and bring in some different rhythmic ideas. kind of creating dynamics by playing bursts of notes here and there and also let it breath a little more. there is a lot of room for space to create tension as well. get out of the pentatonic boxes, this song lends itself for the use of other scale notes, certainly the full minor scale, a few blue notes, try to play around with those ideas. you have a very nice melodic sense to create catchy riffs within the solo, but using tonal and dynamic variations on those creates a more interesting palette for the listener. overall it is very well done, enjoyed listening to it.

Thanks Louis for the advice, yes it's time to try some extensions and try out things, so I'll think about your words. :)

I'm just playing around a basic idea and playing it twice in sequence, it might only be something about 20 or 30% the same or not even the same but very similar. ;)
