Re: My Asat Classic
If it's an ASAT Classic Rustic, the finish will be nitro (both body and neck), otherwise thesmurph1 wrote:I'm wondering if my my gun oil finish butterscotch ASAT Classic is nitro finish? or is gun oil something different? Thanks Scott
finish will be poly.
Of course, no one here will believe you actually have a butterscotch ASAT Classic without a photo.
Hope this helps.

gun oil for g&l is a glossy finish, but it refers to the color. this is different from the gunstock finish often used on guitar necks, such as birchwood casey tru-oil.

Not always a glossy finish, though, see What is TGN?.louis cyfer wrote:gun oil for g&l is a glossy finish, but it refers to the color. this is different from the gunstock finish often used on guitar necks, such as birchwood casey tru-oil.
BTW, the original Rampage (1984 - 1991) had an oil neck finish and I believe the factory used birchwood casey tru-oil.
Hope this helps.
