My first G&L arrived

Post by lefty_major »

I have my first G&L in hand. A special ordered Lefty ASAT Classic arrived from GuitarAdoptions last week. I've been playing the heck out of it and really like it. Natural gloss, #3 rosewood neck, black pickguard. I'll try and post some pictures soon (I don't really get the webhosting picture stuff...), although I recently saw a similar looking guitar on the forum this past week.

I love the sound of the bridge pickup. It sounds great. It' very distinctive, clean and sharp. You all probably know that, but it's great sound to my ears. Out of the box the action seemed a bit high for me, but after a few days of playing, I like the set up. I'm still getting used to the Medium Jumbo frets. My other electric has smaller frets (and scale) but the change is good. It's easy to play. I'm too engrossed with this one to think of the next, but I will be getting more G&Ls. I've been hooked. Very cool. Very fun guitar.

Congrats Lefty. Once you get used to those frets you wont want to go back to those horrible little vintage style ones.

For the reason why, see 6100 Fretwire, which is posted in the G&L Knowledgebase.

Hope this helps.

Congratulations and welcome to the G&L appreciation fan club.

My G&L guitar has medium jumbo frets and have no problems. I plan on purchasing more G&L guitars in the future. I usually prefer to buy from a G&L dealer because I like to customize the colors and neck size to my liking.

I'm really liking the frets and neck. I am able to use less stress in my hand. Relax, relax, relax. It's really nice.

Already thinking about the next one... ASAT Classic Custom or Special... must save money... I like the SC-2 but I don't think they make that in a lefty.
