Friday 12/23 the eve of the eve

Post by Dave_P »

You guys have some great looking families! As I was writing my report yesterday my dog Link was sitting patiently (well mostly) waiting for his walk. We happen to have a big fenced in field in our neighborhood, not many people even realize it's there so it's a great place to let him run around. I've had him since he was six weeks old and he will always be my puppy. Today it's rainy so he's just lounging around the house while we make preparations for this evening

Lunch: I haven't really thought about lunch yet, not much in the house besides what we bought for tonight and I will be cooking pretty much all day. So lunch will be more of picking on things while I cook.

Non-G&L: Well, I feeling a bit like a cold is coming so for breakfast I had a "C Monster" It's a all natural juice put out by Odwala. Very tasty, like a smoothie without the yogurt, and it has 1500% of the drv of Vitamin C. Just the thing to boost ye olde immune system. I'm not one much for medicine, unless it's something serious, so whenever I start to get sick I drink things like that. Seems to work for me, sometimes I'll up my Vitamin D as well. Anyone else have tricks to staying healthy during this time of year...or any time for that matter?

G&L: How many people have BBE and/or G&L products under the tree this year? or giving the gift of G&L?

On a side note the parts I ordered came in yesterday so I was up all night rewiring my '06 ASAT to '90 ASAT specs. The only difference is my '06 has a 4 way switch, which I also decided to rewire to get bridge on one end, neck on the other with the series and parallel in the middle. Well not sure if it was it because I was up so late but I seem to have gotten a connection wrong somewhere. Back to the drawing board on that one.

I've enjoyed the week, hope everyone has a happy holiday or just a great weekend! :greet:

Dave, thanks for entertaining us this week. Hope that you are not getting a bug for the holidays but I also load up on vitamin C when Ii feel a cold coming on. There are many who claim chicken soup is as good as it gets.

Probably no G&L or BBE under the tree. Let me tell you that I have not come up short this year!

Nice looking pooch! Sounds like you have a good project going. Let us know what fixes it. We are an a roll in Minnesota as far as weather. Temps are above average, have been all December and nothing nasty on the horizon. Thanks again for the good week-- Darwin :happy0065:

Enjoyed your stuff this week, Dave. Thanks!

g&l/bbe - I am not giving the gift of G&L, and did not get a gift of G&L. I got the wife a necklace/earring set from a local jeweler that she loves. Hopefully that greases the skids on some playing time and maybe the bluesboy I have been putting off in the interest of being the best husband, EVER!

The weather forecast is VERY mild, but strangely the forecast has been about 15-20 deg F optimistic the last couple of days. (For those in more temperate climates, optimistic in MT during December means the actual temp is colder than the forecast!) When the forecast is 20L-40H, that makes a huge difference!

Nice pets All, I will try and get a pic of my good dog-friend Piston Rings Glatz up over the holidays.

Bests wishes and happy holidays! jeremy

Hey Dave,

Great stuff this week, lets hope that shot of C takes hold! I am sitting down for the beginning of my 2 weeks off :alright:

G&L

I have it on good authority that there may be something under the tree... lets just say it starts with "L" and ends in "EGACY". Only 2 days to go, here is hoping i can remain being a good boy!

Hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday :greet:

Great week, Dave! I was traveling for part of it and wasn't able to be very active, but the discussions were very good.

I visited some friends last night who foster abandoned dogs. They just took in a three year old King Charles Cavalier Spaniel that had been badly abused by his former owner. We clicked immediately, so I have a feeling he might end up joining my pug, who is the same age. We got her at four weeks (the mother had rejected the litter), and she has just started settling down and lounging.

I've found the best cold medicine is prevention. In other words, hand washing. I used to get colds very frequently, until I took a job at a hospital. I was so freaked out by the thought of diseases that I started washing my hands before ANY hand-to-face contact, even if it was just having a cup of coffee or eating a piece of candy. As our infection control nurse recommended, a minimum of two rounds of "Row Row Row Your Boat" while I scrubbed. I went from several colds a year to maybe one cold every five years or so.

I do have a G&L waiting for me under the tree. My wife hasn't let me open the case yet, so I'm pretending it's a surprise. I had forgotten how bad the urge to peek was as a child.

Great week Dave!

No real tricks, I just keep a lot of anti bacterial wet-wipes around and try to keep my hands clean with all the grimy hands touching doors etc. Learned from my wife who has been keeping them around way after our kids were little and we used them all the time.

No G&L, did get my kids some new drum mallets and bass drumhead patches.

Love the 4 way switch.

good week dave. nice doggie. i have nothing under the tree, no tree. we did open the solstice presents last night, but it was only for the cats and dogs. let me tell you, they like opening presents as much as any kid. they know what the holiday season is about. ripping up wrapping paper. they all got something. i buy my own presents, there is no particular time of year, just when i feel like it.

One benefit of being ill the whole week was that for once I could participate in the LR's again. Thanks for a great week Dave!

Drank lot of fruit juices this week too (Odwala OJ and SuperFood) and soup to take in enough liquids.

As it happens I have 2 G&L related presents under the tree: a half of an order I placed this summer and a special present. I will be a happy fellow. Wait, I am a happy fellow already ....

Great weekend everybody!
