Oh, wow! G&L electronics maven Mr Gagon at work again! Interesting stuff; it would be great for somebody at G&L to make a video comparing L-2000 with M-2000 (or L-2500 vs. M-2500) just like Steve Grom did for S-500 vs. Legacy.

Awesome, I'm not a bass player but just from the picture of that M-2000 it looks like it could shake mountains.

+1 on having a comparison video, maybe with an introduction by that cheezy voiceover guy from the other G&L vids.

Would be cool to see a 6 string, otherwise I am afraid G&L can't really sate me on the bass market (I prefer EBMM 5s, so)

g&l does not make a 6 string bass? that's a pretty big oversight.

Who needs a 6-string bass? If G&L starts making one, shouldn't they also expand to seven and eight string guitars?

not really. a lot more bass players play 6 string than guitar players who play 7 or 8, and most of those players wouldn't be interested in g&l for guitars.

Apparently they would need to expand their fanbase to winnow out the representation of luddites too.. I don't play bass to thump along in the background, I take it for full girth as an instrument opposed to support.

As Louis said, many more bassists play with 6's than guitarists use 7s. I would love to see a G&L 7 regardless, a freaking ASAT Special with a 7th string would have a special place in my heart given how awesome the MFD pickups on those are. The guys wanting 7 string single coils are however a very true minority (which I also belong in part).

A seventh string would mess me up something serious. - ed
