Hi there,
I just acquired a G&L USA Legacy Special in a trade. The body has 2 dual blade pick-ups (which I believe are the standard pick-ups on the legacy Specials) and one double-width Seymour Duncan at the bridge. That configuration seems to match the Legacy HB set-up, not the Legacy Special, but the headstock says USA Legacy Special. I understand there were lots of various configurations of G&L guitars through the years and this guitar is a few years old (late 90's or early 2000's), although in great condition.
My question is whether there were USA Legacy Specials with that configuration with a Seymour Duncan, or whether someone may have matched the neck to a different body.
Any insight would be appreciated.

Re: Question regarding my G&L USA Legacy guitar
Also possible that someone did just change the pick-guard.
You could remove the neck and pick-guard and post some pictures from the pickup cavity, the electronics and neck pocket, besides pictures from the guitar itself of course.

Re: Question regarding my G&L USA Legacy guitar
Prior to 2001, G&L had a bridge humbucker option for the Legacy models (Legacy and Legacy Special).peterdev wrote:Hi there,

It was a Seymour Duncan TB-4 pickup with a mini-toggle switch for coil splitting the bridge pickup.
This option was dropped when the Legacy HB, Legacy 2HB, and Legacy Deluxe models were added in 2001.
We have several Legacy Specials registered in the G&L Registry with this optional bridge SD humbucker.
Without seeing this guitar (hint, hint ), I would guess that it a Legacy Special with the factory installed
optional bridge humbucker.
Please do post a photo and add to or update this guitar in our G&L Registry.
Hope this helps.
