Hi. That's my ASAT Classic in my avatar to the left. I absolutely love this guitar. Lately I've been noticing an intermittent metallic rubbing sound when I bend the B or E string. I think it's coming from the string trees. Comes and goes. You can hear it unplugged and plugged.
Anybody else have this and any tips on how to fix it?
Thanks for your time.

Re: Bend String = metallic rubbing sound
If you have a newer Classic with the metal string tree, I would put a drop of 3 in 1 oil on each string at the tree. I also put a drop on each saddle when I put new strings on. The metal string tree is stamped and make sure it doesn't have a burr or sharp edge on the bottom side, catching on the string. If this doesn't help, let us know.-- Darwin

if darwin's suggestion doesn't solve the problem, you might want to check the frets. you might need to dress them. i have had frets develop some wear that created a similar sound before.
