The place to discuss, post photos, video, and audio of the G&L products (US instruments, stomp boxes, etc.) produced after 1991, including the amps & gear we use with them.
It makes a huge difference in the sound. I already was using the sonic maximizer
as a plug in. If I could have only two pedals they would this sonic maximizer and
the BBE opto stomp. Both subtle - both fantastic.
I'm going to be ordering the Acoustimax preamp with sonic maximizer for acoustic
open mic nights.
i use the sonic stomp. very useful. subtle, at least the way i set it up, but very important. i do prefer the demeter compulator for an opto compressor though.
It does sound really good. The Geek
Screamer sounds good too.
Combined with the sonic maximizer it
would sound even better!
And here is the G&L Invader plus with
the sonic maximizer

The good contrast test starts at 3:34 without
the sonic stomp. Another good test starts
at 5:18 again without the sonic stomp.
Once you try the sonic maximizer you'll
won't want to play without it.
I really love this G&L Invader guitar (don't
care for the middle pickup and I think the
G&L humbuckers sound better than the SD pups).
Still can't decide between the ASAT Deluxe,
Invader or the Fiorano.
We used to use the Sonic Maximizer all the time on the vocals and I used to plug in to it when I recorded. I always wanted to try it for straight into the amp, but never got around to it. I might pick up one now that I have a PA and am starting to record stuff as well.
