Hi everyone, my name is Bruce, and I'm new to the forum. I'm 53 and just took up guitar back in February; and I'm loving it! Wish I had taken it up sooner. I have a couple of dreadnoughts, and I bought a Kenny Wayne Shepherd strat a few months back, just because I've always loved strats. But, mine has a somewhat dark sound. I bought some Van Zandt Blues Specials and had them installed, but it still doesn't sound as bright as I would like. Started looking around and found some videos on the S-500, which seems like a really nice guitar, so that's what brought me to this forum. Thanks for listening!
Bruce

Hi Bruce,
It's never too late to take up guitar. I started in 2007 at 55. It took me 4 years to find G&L after making a lot of mistakes along the way.
I found a video on Youtube of a nice S-500. This S-500 was a NAMM show
guitar that ended up with Erico Marcelo.

And another one at Wolfe Guitars

You can also find them with mahogany bodies:

This one at Redbone guitars sounds great but the
amp noise is high however it demos the sounds of the S-500

I particularly like the old school sunburst finish over ash with a black
pickguard that GuitarAdoptions has:

And here is a thorough review of the Tribute S-500

I've been eyeballing the S-500 for some time now. I have a USA Legacy (fullerton red)
but I also find the S-500 appealing.

Re: New to forum
Thanks for posting the videos. It's a very nice sounding instrument. I've also seen plenty of videos on the Legacy, and it sounds very nice as well. I'll read some posts in this forum to find out what others are saying also.
Thanks again!
