Lunch: I worked through lunch today.
Guitars: I struggled for years with G&L, S-500, Legacy and Comanche style guitars along with Fender, Stratocasters. Most of my guitar hero's played Strat style guitars so I made the mistake of assuming I was Strat style guitar player. Last year I finally discovered that I preferred the sound of humbucker equipped guitars. I'm much more satisfied with my tone since making the switch. Have you played a certain style guitar for a long time and suddenly discovered it wasn't for you? Since making this discovery I see a humbucker equipped Asat in my future.
Pets: I'm a cat person! Post a picture of your pet. My cat makes a fine alarm clock. He wakes me up at 6:00 am every morning. I haven't slept in for 10 years.
Random Picture: Sunset over Lake Le Homme Dieu in Alexandria Minnesota.

It's hard to beat a nice sunset-over-water shot and yours is a good'un!
I've been on a similar tone journey accumulating a small collection of strat and tele style guitars - 6 altogether. After 20+ years playing I've just bought my first ever 2HB guitar (a Gibson LP Studio gold top) and POW, that is the sound I've heard in my head for years. A rich, full bodied sound with a hint of natural compression. As a bonus, I hadn't appreciated that the shorter scale length makes bending much easier too. The only bummer is that the new G&L Ascari wasn't around to try while I was shopping. It would've been fun to compare it with some of the other candidates I auditioned.
I don't need a cat alarm clock at the moment. I've got kids and they're set for 6 am and 6:30 am. They keep asking for a cat though.

Hey Sprlnter,
I am a sucker for good sunset/sunrise pics.... here is my best from a year ago, woke up super early on cold morning on the boat and couldn't believe my eyes.......
I have a few guitars with humbuckers laying around, i forget sometimes how much fun it is to rock out with the short scale!

Scott, I was going to post a sunset photo until I scrolled down to yours. Wow! What's that song: "Nothing Compares to You." Wow!!!
Here's my dog. He's an American Eskimo, of the Spitz persuasion. He's been such a friend. We "rescued" him when he was about two. He's probably going on 14 now. If he doesn't last forever, I don't know what we're going to do.....
What was the question, Sprinter? Oh, I had a Burger King Croissan'wich (bacon) that I had left over from breakfast. I had a buy one, get one free coupon. Yippie!!! Ha! - ed
PS: I rotate my guitars and am currently enjoying my Hamer P-90 special very much, thank you. I'm pretty much a "T" style guy, but I'm enjoying the change of pace (and the set neck and short(er) scale) of late.

Re: Tuesday 9/20/2011 Lunch Report
Sprinter, The pics of the sunsets are beautiful. Lunch today was a sandwich with Magic and Sam watching me.
Boy, I must be easy, I love them all. I really like the big MFDs and they do most everything but the humbuckers in the F-100 return are also keepers. I attended a Taylor road show tonight and they could do all kinds of things with a SB-2 with humbuckers. He was even getting Strat tones from a T-5.
I love pets and the pictures posted tonight are sweet. I am currently under sever pressure as Ginny put me in charge of the cats while she is gone. Our dog Troy, who is no longer with us was riding with me on the golf car a few years back and he was leaning over the edge when I came to a corner. He crashed and lost most of his lower teeth on one side and was all beat up. I took him to the vet and he recovered but the one thing I learned is that if that one of the pets gets hurt when I am in charge, I am not going home anymore. I told her that Troy was careless. Pets are awesome and Ed, your dog is a fine one, all spruced up for dinner. Ed, if you or I were sitting by the table with such anticipation, they would probably throw us a bone!!!-- Darwin

Re: Tuesday 9/20/2011 Lunch Report
Lunch was hot pastrami sandwiches in the cafeteria today, actually pretty tasty, though not very good for me.
Guitars: I've owned both and came to the opposite conclusion, I prefer single coils to humbuckers in most cases. That, unfortunately, does not keep me from gassing for a heritage/PRS etc.
Pets: always been a dog person, the only cats I've spent time with pissed on all my stuff and scratched the heck out of me. I do know a couple of cats that I do like but I also like that they don't live with me
In recent years I've had three dogs at once, all rescues. Marvin, a pointer mix, we took in until we found him a good home, and we did. Angel, a golden mix, I was very close with passed last summer very unexpectedly from a brain aneurysm. Now we just have Link, a New Zealand Huntaway/Australian Cattle dog..ish (we think), our first of the three, we got him when he was just a month old from a rescue league in Arizona, he's 7 now.
He's a great friend and my hiking buddy, though a little too "talkative" at times (like when the baby is asleep )
I'd love to post some random pics but I'm at work and flickr is blocked, maybe later when I get home.
