The place to discuss, post photos, video, and audio of the G&L products (US instruments, stomp boxes, etc.) produced after 1991, including the amps & gear we use with them.
spot on review. nicely done. i personally like the 20th Anniversary better than the 25th., but for anniversary guitars they're both pretty simple. that said there's something nice in simplicity but a few "extras" would have been nice too. but as you say the 25th. is an excellent guitar in its own right and of course with many shops now offering Plek service you can also have that done if you decide to do a re-fret.
Nice description and great tunes! BTW, my #176 actually does have Sperzel (non-locking) tuners. The factory page does make no mention of them supposed to be locking. But I'm somewhat surprised to hear that G&L branded machines are use because those tend to be rebranded Schaller tuners.

Wow, I have #178
Yeah, just G/L branded non-locking tuners. Hmmmm. That's curious. Thanks for the compliments on the music. Much appreciated.

Well, I believe that should be the point with Leo inspired guitars. They should remain simple and the special appointments shouldn't bring bling (in the Gibson spirit) but extra quality. Even though I could appreciate blinguiness, but more in an exagerated 50/60's fashion (flakes, gold top...) , in projects other than anniversary editions, which should remain classy (my two worthless cents).
Anyway, nice review. Thanks, ieso. I'd love to see a 25th come around (Montreal) as I'd probably like to grab it after testing it.
Mine is #98 with the Sperzel (non-locking) tuners. It is a very cool and unique guitar for sure. I don't know about you guys but neck on mine is huge! Completely different from any other G&L i have ever played

Yeah, the neck is much bigger than any other G/L I've ever played.
