How much for a replacement pickup?

The place to discuss, post photos, video, and audio of the G&L products (US instruments, stomp boxes, etc.) produced after 1991, including the amps & gear we use with them.

How much for a replacement pickup?

Post by marquezal »

Well the G&L Online Store is down and I have that Custom Classic that needs to be repaired ASAT, I mean ASAP

I'd appreciate it if anybody out there can quote me the a price for a neck pickup for a Custom Classic ASAT. If I'm not mistaken it's simply a Jumbo MFD, right?

I saw that Rio Grande has 2 offerings, one at $84 and the "Muy Grande", which I think is French for I have a small one, for $94. That sounds kinda stiff to me (and the pun is intended).

The G&L on-line should be back up on Monday, when they return from the annual factory maintenance shutdown.
I don't believe the CC neck pickup is available in the on-line store, though. I suggest you check with one of the G&L US dealers or G&L distributors for availability and price.
If the pickup needs rewinding you might google "pickup rewinding services".
If the problem is pickup squeal check the Knowledgebase, G&L Tech Tips, there are posts there addressing that.

The Rio Grande pickup maybe a drop in replacement size wise, but it is not an MFD pickup and will not sound the same.

Hope this helps.
