Color selection on G&L website not clear

Post by buick8 »

The G&L website shows that the "Whiskey" color is available in Premier finish. Does NOT specify that it is not available for all guitar shapes or styles. I do not understand why it should be limited to the Rampage model only unless it is a signature color for a certain guitarist. If that is the case, it should be mentioned on the website and I should not have to find out from my dealer after the order was placed that the color is unavailable. Very poor on G&L's part.

Last month this was discussed on the G&L Facebook page:
Any Whiskey over ash finished basses out there?

G&L Musical Instruments So far Whiskey is only available on the Rampage Jerry Cantrell which has a soft maple body. We haven't tried it on other woods yet. - Dave

Chris Nicholas Oh because it appears as an option with all the other finishes on the USA finish options. I think it would look pretty stellar on Ash or Mahogany.

G&L Musical Instruments We'll have to edit that page so it specifies that Whiskey is for the Rampage. Thanks for the heads up. - Dave

They just have not had the time to update the website yet.

BTW, the same is true with the color Ivory, it is a Rampage only finish.

Hope this helps.

New to the G&L website, I did not review prior posts. I was very impressed with the custom guitar i ordered from Adirondack Drum and Pro. Just thought G&L needs to be more in tune to what they have listed on their website as not to disappoint their customers. Fender does enough of that with their limited options so i do tip my hat to G&L in that regard. Also wondering why there is not an option for a bigsby for leftys offered. I know that Hamer has them.
