Seen a G&L on eBay

Post by tholt2 »

Ive seen a G&L Invader on eBay but have suspicions that it is advertised incorrectly and is actually a tribute legacy. The description is vague and the picture is poor quality. However, there is a serial number (06117096) and I wondered if anyone could find out the exact model??

Thanks

It might help if you could post the link to this auction.

There was a G&L Tribute Invader XL model and that serial number would indicate that it is a 2006 Tribute model.

Hope this helps.

Sans guard the Invader is a work of art. The shape of the Invader pickguard does it no justice. ...Just my opinion of course.

What Invader have you seen with a pickguard? AFAIK, they all are sans pickguard.

Yes, I made a mistake. I tried to retrace my steps to where I saw them but I did not find what I had been looking at. I think I saw a group of guitars that contained, both, Invaders and Skyhawks. It was the Skyhawk with a pickguard that I did not like so much. At the time I was heavily influenced by the beauty of the Invader you had posted. In the context of that moment it all just struck me a certain way. Looking at them now I still do not like the shape of the Skyhawk pickguard but it has more to do with how good the Invader looks without one.

After a 25 year break I just bought a Legacy and have started playing again. I am now tempted and would not rule out acquiring an Invader in the future, nor an ASAT.
