Here's another killer Comanche we just completed for a record producer that lives in So Cal. The body is semi-hollow
swamp ash and the finish is Emerald Blue Metallic. We not only painted the headstock, but the entire neck was
painted to match the body. The white pearl pickguard is the perfect addition to compliment this amazing color.
We really love the fantastic and interesting instruments people keep ordering. Another example of Custom Configuration
from G&L

Very nice, indeed...but I don't understand painting the neck! Might look cool, but I'll take a clear satin finish on my neck ANY day over painted!!

That was the customer's request to have the neck be painted that way.
Factoid from one of Greg Gagliano's G&L webpages: all the SC-3s have color matched necks beginning in mid-1986. This was originally done to conceal a small batch of mineral stained maple that was used for SC-3 neck blanks. While the mineral stained wood is structurally sound, it is not aesthetically perfect. The SC-3s with color matched necks sold so well that G&L Sales requested that the practice be continued and most, but not all, SC-3s made after mid-19860 have color matched necks.
