New ASAT Classic nicest G&L I have ever had.

The place to discuss, post photos, video, and audio of the G&L products (US instruments, stomp boxes, etc.) produced after 1991, including the amps & gear we use with them.

New ASAT Classic nicest G&L I have ever had.

Post by johnnyqb »

I Just bought this one new from Route 7 Music on-line, and my jaw just dropped from the first minute. This one has a #1 neck, gloss finish (which I just love) and a 2-piece ash body with honeyburst finish (cannot see the seam unless you look behind neck plate). This guitar (because of the PLEKing I assume) has the lowes action down the whole fretboard of any guitar I have owned, without a hint of buzzing even when smacking the strings. The neck and body work beautifully, and bring out all the qualities of these MFD pups. I feel like I am hearing the ash through the neck pup position. I have owned about 20 ASAT, including Leo Signatures, and several others from the early and late '90s, and the first decade of this century, and this is simply the nicest one of all of them. Even the jack is tight and the cord just pops in there snugly--addressing the one concern I have with ASATs. This is the kind of guitar that shows me what G&L can be. And the new spec sheet is a really sweet addition, that shows the pride the G&L team has over this beautiful guitar.

Johnny, what a beauty. I have a couple of new ASATs and I can tell you that the build quality has never been higher. I also like very low action and find the necks on these new builds perfect. -- Darwin

That neck looks like you could spread it on toast because it looks so buttery smooth.
