Broadcaster 1/4" jack mount?

Post by marcstegen »

Question on the Broadcaster: Was the 1/4" jack originally mounted on a curved plate, mounted with 4 screws? Or was it always a thru the body mount? I have S/N: BC00509 which has it mounted on a plate, and I'm trying to find out if this is original or if the previous owner did this. The plate is painted wrinkle-finish black so I never questioned it before; but I'm selling it and the question has come up. Thanks!

Hi Marc,

That part is non-original. Broadcasters have Switchcraft jacks but they are known to go bad if you don't use a cable with a proper jack, i.e. metric versus imperial. They are usually replaced using these instructions or replaced by a jack on a plate.

Hope this helps,
