Buying a New Guitar

Post by twinreverb »

I have not been on this forum for a long time
and some thing have changed. I sold my G&L
Asat Classic and my reissue Fender Twin Reverb.
I had to pay some bill then on top of that I lost
my job. Then I went to work for a Temp company
and after 7 months I was out of a job again. Now
the good news I'm saving to get another guitar and
amp. I'm looking at the end of summer to buy the
guitar. I have looked at the new Fender American
Deluxe and standard and I like them. The other
guitars that I'm looking at is another G&L Asat
Classic or Special. I check ebay and I also look
on Gbase. There isn't to many dealers where I
live that stocK G&L guitars so its a little hard
to play one. The local dealers stock a lot of
Fenders. I like the way the Asat sounds thru
a Fender Amp. So if anyone has any ideas
on this please let me know. I came across
a great looking Asat on gbase just have to
save a little more money and the guitar is
from 1995. Is it better to go with used or
buy new :?:

I'm sorry you have fell on hard times. If I were you I would find one used because like anything, there are deals to be had on used instruments. And, I'd recommend a G&L over a Fender, but I am biased. There is a marketplace on the site here and although it's not super busy, if you wait a while you can find great buys here.

I wish you a lot of luck in you search. You could get a nice Blues Jr or even a Deville or something to go with your ASAT. They sound quite nice together.

I think in your case you might as well go with used. The high quality of a G&L usually means you usually get a great guitar for less then new .

Good luck twinreverb and happy hunting.
