blues Boy with rosewood fingerboard question

Post by rich7196 »

hi all,

just got home with new blues boy, fantastic axe! question.. when looking at the neck from the p/u there seems to be more maple on on the bottom (hi e string) than on the top (low e string)..

which seems to be uneven? its a maple neck with rosewood finger board.. its kinda hard to explain, but I'm sure you guys might have a logical answer? plays wonderfully, sounds amazing, just having a hard time believing that something might be wrong with axe?

Try to snap a picture. I was thinking maybe your pickup is higher on one side and that's what you're seeing. Is it a USA or Tribute model? Did you buy it brand new?

I am having a tough time trying to understand the issue. Are you saying the rosewood is thinner on treble side? Are you saying the maple is thicker there? Is the neck seated properly in the pocket? Any gaps on back or sides? the pickguard could also have a slight curvature that's throwing you off.

Could be a missaligned neck, nut or bridge. But I think it's pefectly OK to have a little more finger board under
the high E string. If it was the other way around You're finger would keep falling off the the board.

Cheers
