ASAT Special

Post by Thumbs »

Here is my new ASAT resting at home with the rest of the harem. She's Butterscotch w/ a Birdseye neck. She came with belly and forearm contours and I added a Black Crinkle pickguard. Man, this one is really a keeper! Ordered fresh from the factory and custom made. :shocked028:

Congrats! She's a beauty! Has some retro to it with modern ergonomics thrown in.

that IS a beauty and the black crinkle makes the butterscotch "scotch" even more. Gonna do the control plate and bridge too?

Hey Wayne,
Your new guitar looks fantastic. I'm telling you, that black hardware just sets these guitars off. Of course, nobody knows this better than you. The contours actually make the outline of the body a little different but it's just the shadowing. Is it a lot more comfortable up against your body than the standard ASAT? I've never played one with the contours. Again, the butterscotch with the crinkle black pick-guard looks great. Enjoy.

Here's some more pics................ She came without a guard. Looked kinda cool, but the black really set off her other features, IMO. Yes, she is more comfy to hold, she snuggles right up to ya'. I'm kinda liking the modern look with the chrome bridge, control plate and tuners. I have the other black parts ready if I change my mind or she desires a new "dress". :luv:

Which looked far better, in my opinion. ;)

The guard reduced the noise from the pickups to nothing. I liked it both ways and was going to leave it without a guard, until my son said he noticed while test fitting the guard that the noise went away. As the control plate had not been secured, per my request, I had two possible sources for the noise. She's quiet and musical. Wish my GF was more of one and less of the other. :elguitar054:

Here is why I put a pickguard on my new ASAT. My SC-2, custom built.
