You keep those with less resale value?

I hope that the top picture is the most recent. Please tell me it's not the other way around - that you replaced that lovely Heritage with an Ibanez!

LOL, yes the top is the most recent. As a challenge I try and edge the value of this little collection
upward as I buy/sell/trade guitars.
The one constant has been that killer Legacy. I've advertised it a couple times for no particular
reason other than to try something else.
Thankfully in the end i have not been able to let it go.
There are a host of other strat style guitars not pictured here. This is just
the three collection pics I had.
There have been four Eric Johnsons, a Suhr, a Custom Shop '56, as well as several AmDlx and Am Std strats.
I do have a new series AmDlx now which is very nice but the point is that darn Legacy
is the equal of all and better than many.

Funny but no. For instance the the EJ strat on the bottom pic was traded for the Heritage 575 CustomXochitl wrote:You keep those with less resale value?
which was a very good trade and the Ibanez semi-hollow for the Soloway Gosling also a great trade.
The Es-339 went in another deal not reflected in the pics but always upward in value
or to fit a particular musical need.

It seems you are immune to bass gas as that J is in them all too.

Well, probably not immune, It's just that I don't play much bass.sirmyghin wrote:It seems you are immune to bass gas as that J is in them all too.
That is a terrific MIM fretless that does everything I need so
it just hangs around just in case.

I know what you mean I played an identical MIM for a while (borrowed) when my old bass was going and my Carvin was being built. It was fretted but I was very surprised with the quality of work.

I am also interested to know what you think of the Soloway.
A couple of years ago I heard through a guitar board that Jim Soloway was interested in test driving a Swart AST. I happened to have one and I live in Portland where Jim lives so I contacted him to see if he wants to play my AST. He did, so I showed up at his house one evening and he played several of his guitars through the AST side-by-side with his Headstrong Lil-King (I believe that's what it's called). He also let me play with a couple of Soloways, but I was not comfortable playing such a nice and expensive guitar without any intention of buying one so I just kind of plucked on it for a minute or two. The 27-inch scale is actually very comfortable.

Since this is the G & L section I will brief. The Soloway Gosling is amazing.I am also interested to know what you think of the Soloway.
If you played the 27" scale that is the Swan. The Gosling is regular Fender/G&L scale.
Happy to discuss via PM or I'll post a review in the General section.

Pianos are too heavy to deal with moving?

What's your trick? Are those trades straight swaps or trade ins (guitar +cash)? Whenever I put something up for trade I end up getting offers as tempting as busted up old Gorilla amps with a dead speaker or some rusty strings!

First....No Craigslist. Mostly The Gear Page. Don't know if there is a secret. What's your trick? Are those trades straight swaps or trade ins (guitar +cash)?
I also traded an Epiphone Emperor for a ES-335 Satin. Right place, right time and happened to have
exactly what the guy needed.
The Soloway trade was straight across. The Heritage trade I added a few dollars but I'm still waaaay ahead.
Believe me...I've had some crap offers too. Most trades are some guy trying to offload a problem guitar.

I knew the Heritage was the latest picture. Love the color on the Legacy. I really liked the EJ I had for a while. But honestly, don't think it was any better than my current Legacy.
Cool pics, 'rat.

Hey Kenny,
I agree 100%. The EJ's are very nice but the Legacy is easily as nice a guitar.
Now a guy might have preferences for vintage hardware or something but
just on a fit and finish and general quality basis G & L's are one of the best
deals going (along with Heritage)
