Deciphering body markings

Post by RumRunner »

Hey there, a new member here and I just added a Legacy. I am totally impressed with the quality and playability of this instrument.

My question to those who may have more experience with these guitars is this, do you know what the markings in the body mean?

Here is a look "under-the-hood" of mine...

Only a guess but I would say it means Mint pickguard with vintage cream pickup covers and knobs. Nice guitar-- Darwin

To add to Darwin's good guess:

TS = Tobacco Sunburst body color
N-MP = natural Maple neck OR Northwestern Maple body [I cannot tell whether the body wood is Alder or Maple (which would be unusual)]
legacy = Legacy model
247354 = internal order number used for tracking

my $0.02 guess :think:

Thanks guys, that all makes sense. The body is swamp ash.

Swamp Ash it is! I didn't see your second photo which it clearly shows the SA grain.

If you have not already added to our G&L Registry, please do so.

Enjoy!
