Replacing the nut

Hi group!

I have an import (is that the tribute model?) Comanche.
I am thinking of installing the Fender LSR roller nut and putting in a tremsetter.

I am yet to start any work and am only considering it.

Question:
Does the original nut have a flat bottom groove, or has it been carved out with the radius of the neck (or maybe 1/2 inch less)?

I am yet to see the LSR nut but I assume most nuts have a flat bottom and expect a flat bottomed nut slot.

If it helps any, my Tribute S-500 has a flat nut slot with no notch. The nut is also flat on the bottom.

Yes Mick, that helps. Noted for future use.
For now I have given up.
I tried to whack the nut out using a piece of wood and a mallet. I only dented the nut. I am afraid to hit it harder.

I was going to put in a trem setter and maybe a roller nut. As I was unable to get the nut off easliy, I decided to try a little graphite spray applied by toothpick to the notches for the strings.

I can now use my tremelo without the strings binding, and it usually stays well in tune when I do.
