Sound of regular tone knobs
Can somebody post a video, or a link to a video of a G&L USA made legacy without the PTB system? Just so i can hear the differences and advantages, or disadvantages in sound.

Re: Sound of regular tone knobs
With the Bass cut set to "10", it has no effect whatsoever on the tone.
The treble cut works just like the one found in other strats. The treble cut cap (or in other strats: tone cap) used is 0.022µF. Fender Stratocaster guitars had tone caps ranging from 0.01µF to 0.05µF. A typical value used these days is 0.022µF, the same that is used by G&L.
In other words, the PTB system offers more flexibility (having a bass cut); the treble cut works like the tone control found in other guitars.

Not a video or link to one, but you might check out this post: Re: Is my PTB circuit faulty?.skipster wrote:Can somebody post a video, or a link to a video of a G&L USA made legacy without the PTB system? Just so i can hear the differences and advantages, or disadvantages in sound.
Hope this helps.
